Staff

The appropriate staffing levels are laid down in the Early Years Foundation Stage – 1 adult to 4 children aged 2 and 1 adult to 8 children aged 3 and over – and Busy Bees maintains this ratio at all times. On most occasions our staff/child ratio is higher than the mandatory ratios.
All our staff are qualified or working toward qualifications and all adults working with children on a regular basis have DBS (Disclosing and Debarring Service) enhanced checks.

Our staff hold paediatric first aid certificates which are renewed every three years as well as level 2 food and hygiene.
Childcare protection and safeguarding courses are a priority and all the team undertake these courses as well as regular refresher sessions.

The Team

The team members are listed below together with qualifications and some of the courses that they have attended. The Busy Bees Committee is very keen to ensure that staff undertake professional development and actively encourage them to attend training courses. This enables them to increase their understanding of Early Years childcare and put this knowledge into practice to enhance the children’s experience at the pre-school.

“The manager and staff are dedicated to their roles. They work together well as a team and all contribute to the setting’s evaluation. For instance, they regularly reflect on the activities provided and think of ways to further improve.” Ofsted report 2020
